I shop for used Land Rovers.

Looking at a pretty LR3 or LR4 (they’re getting affordable) feeds the disco fever and fuels the dreams. One day... one day...

It also reminds me that my Toyota costs WAY less to maintain, so I’m not in such a bad spot after all! Ha ha ha ha!

Yeah, I look at used Rovers all the time too, but then remember my 100 series has been largely trouble free for 4 years and 80k miles.

I’ll be honest - my 4Runner has been good, but not great, in the overall durability dept. And for comfort, well, it’s not the best for my shape/size.

But at least it’s free of electrical gremlins and air suspension...

I don’t know your dimensions obvi ously, but I’m 6'5" 260lbs and the land cruiser fits me well. My 100 is about the same length and height as a 5th gen 4runner, but is noticeably wider.

I had a 2006 LR3 for a few years and had a blast with issues. While i didn’t have to fix the air suspension, it was on its way out when i sold it. I did have to do the bushings, wiring harness, new front diff, etc.

I’m 6' and I have a long-ish back, so I have trouble with my shoulders and the lumbar curve. I’m also inflexible, so my hips get sore sitting close to the floor (I could move the seat upwards a bit, but then I get the top of my vision cut off).

Yeah, I’m well acquainted with getting the top of my vision cut off. I will say my LR3 was fantastic with head room, but the LC isn’t far behind. I had a 3rd gen 4runner for a number of years. I loved it, but it was pretty compact on the inside.
